The Tempo MPP Hackathon at Futura is a five-day, on-site hackathon (June 16-20) for builders working on the Machine Payments Protocol - the open standard for fiat and stablecoin payments on Tempo, the payments-first L1 from Stripe and Paradigm.

Prizes: $15,000 total

Two categories:

  • Applications: products and services built on MPP: agent payments, commerce, payouts, anything users touch
  • Infrastructure: tooling, SDKs, indexers, and services that make building on MPP easier

What to expect

  • Tempo engineers on site every day for direct support
  • Judging by the Tempo team
  • Small and focused: 30 - 40 hackers, teams of 1–3
  • Hosted inside Futura, with full access to the event

Participation is invite-only. You need an accepted application or a Futura ticket. Accepted hackers receive a free Futura ticket.

Submission requirements

What to submit by June 20, 9 AM:

  1. Project name and category — Applications or Infrastructure (pick one)
  2. Short description — what it does and what part of MPP/Tempo it uses
  3. Repository link — public, or with access granted to the judges. The repo must contain a README with setup/run instructions.
  4. Demo video — max 3 minutes, showing the project working. Unlisted YouTube/Loom link is fine.
  5. Team members — all teammates added to the Devpost submission (1–3 people)

Notes:

  • One submission per team
  • Projects must be built during the hackathon (June 16–20). Pre-existing public libraries and your own prior open-source work may be used as dependencies, but the submitted project itself must be new work.
  • Projects must use MPP and/or run on Tempo
